Guardian Hills Veterans Healing Center, a Missouri nonprofit 501(c)(3) is developing a new short-duration, immersive residential retreat program to serve Midwestern Veterans and their immediate families experiencing the effects of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Moral Injury (MI). Our approach to healing is integrative and holistic, leveraging the restorative power of nature and a variety of therapeutic activities. The campus is enriched with multiple natural features thoughtfully incorporated into our curriculum. Participants engage in immersive educational and therapeutic experiences, including equine-assisted therapy, archery, art sessions, yoga, kayaking, labyrinth walks, and other directed activities. Each element of our program is meticulously designed to empower veterans with practical coping skills and recovery techniques. The cornerstone of GHVHC's philosophy is to deliver maximum benefits within a condensed timeframe. We aim to equip veterans with effective coping mechanisms and recovery strategies that they can continue to utilize in their daily lives, supported by their local communities and treatment resources. This approach is fundamental in helping Veterans not just to cope but to thrive post-service.
